Rehobeth Beach!!

I’ve always wanted to be a beach bum. To lay out on the beach all day and get gloriously tanned sounds like a pretty awesome way to spend a summer. Plus, I would get to eat all of the Thrasher’s Boardwalk Fries and funnel cake that I could possibly want (providing that I get paid to lay out on the beach). If you feel like I do about the beach, then you should try out Delaware’s beaches.

There’s pretty much something for everyone at Delaware beaches. The main beach (and the one that I’ll be focusing on in today’s post) is Rehobeth Beach. But the smaller beaches dotting Delaware’s coastline are really nice for those who want to get away. Lewes, Delaware has its fair share of beachfront properties that are really pretty. There’s also this restaurant there called Surf Bagel that serves up the best bagels I have ever tasted. (They put like a mountain of house-made cream cheese on those things, and it is fabulous.) Cape Henlopen is known for its easy parking and a shorefront that isn’t dotted with those hard sea rocks that can be pretty annoying. If you go to the Cape, you know you’re going to be swimming on pretty soft shores. There are other beaches here and there that are a bit more secluded if you’re looking to get the on-the-beach experience without the crowds.

Now, on to the good stuff – the pictures!

Like I mentioned already, in this post I’m going to be focusing on Rehobeth Beach. This is the beach that offers that truly beach-y vibe, what with the boardwalk and strip of beach-themed stores and restaurants. I’m just going to say that the Rehobeth boardwalk is pretty good. (It’s no Ocean City, Maryland, but it’s alright for a Delaware attraction.)

When Ben and I went to Rehobeth, it was raining and there was lots of Memorial Day-weekend traffic, but these hurdles only made the trip more of an adventure! We didn’t get to do a lot of the stuff we would have had it been nice and sunny outside. But I still had a lot of fun (because I mean, come on, who doesn’t have fun at the beach?). I’ll just let the pictures in that slideshow up there do the talking from now on.
