My Top 3 Tips to Keep Yourself Organized

A lot of people have told me that I seem like I have my life put together. To those people I say: HA! I am unsure about so many things, but the one thing I am positive about is that I am a very organized (if slightly all-over-the-place) person. As a Type A personality, there are a few tips and tricks that I live by when it comes to organization. Here are my top 3:

1.Have a system in place.

This is the bread and butter of organization – the number 1 tip that (probably) every organized person will give you. IIMG_0131f you don’t have an organization system in place, then you can’t very well maintain an organized life. In my organizational system, I use planners, dry-erase calendars, bullet journals, and God only know what else to make sure that I am doing what I’m supposed to be doing – when I’m supposed to be doing it.

2.Create a routine for yourself.

I have a morning routine and a night routine (and – sometimes – a middle of the day routine) that I try to stick to religiously. This helps me stay in an organized mindset; I know what I usually do and when each and every day. Now, this isn’t to say that I stick to this all of the time. Sometimes, I have to go off-book when I want to have a little fun (ie. I skip my skin care if I’m out too late on a Friday night). But I do try to maintain my routines as best I can.

3.Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Life is messy. It doesn’t always fit into a cookie-cutter version of what it’s “supposed” to be, and that’s fine. If I can’t complete my morning routine because my sister got a flat tire and needs to be rescued from the side of the road (true story) then that’s fine. Things come up that are more important than the everyday grind, and I try my best to live with that and make the best of everything.
